About US...
Crème de la Crème is a cake boutique started by me, Dawn Verwold. I began as a cake decorator at the age of 17 in Atlanta, Georgia. I slowly worked towards positions that required more intense decorating skills. I have taken a multitude of classes in cake decorating to further my knowledge, including traveling to London, England. While overseas, concentration was heavily spent on the art of Rolled Fondant. The one on one training provided for an acute sense to detail and perfection of Gumpaste Flowers, Ribbon Bows, Plaques, Embellished Latticework, etc.
I was then hired to develop cake and wedding cake programs for retail bakeries. I have worked with people from Anaheim to Orlando illustrating the capabilities of cake icing. In addition, I have worked in many Food Shows showing how Rolled Fondant is used. There seemed to always be a little something missing. I truly missed working with brides designing a wedding cake of their dreams. I decided to return to what I truly love, designing wedding cakes.
